This custom-built granny flat was designed to provide a private, self-contained living space without compromising on style or functionality. The client needed a compact home solution that could comfortably accommodate extended family, while also enhancing the value and usability of their backyard. Working within a defined footprint, our team delivered a two-bedroom layout that maximises light, privacy, and flow, anchored by a generous alfresco area that extends the living space outdoors.

From the outset, the goal was to achieve a sense of spaciousness through smart design rather than size. High-set windows, raked ceilings, and oversized sliding doors allow natural light to pour in from multiple angles. Internally, we paired warm, neutral finishes with polished surfaces, like gloss cabinetry and tiled floors, to reflect light and maintain a crisp, clean aesthetic. The result is a balanced, low-maintenance space that feels modern yet timeless, and fits seamlessly into the existing property.

This Baulkham Hills project was about achieving harmony between sleek modern living and the leafy suburban surrounds. The client needed a self-contained residence that could serve as independent accommodation for family, with a clear focus on functionality, low maintenance, and timeless visual appeal. We responded with a clean-lined, dark brick exterior that complements the natural landscape and a highly practical two-bedroom floor plan optimised for comfort and privacy.

Inside, the finishes speak to simplicity done well: large format tiling, soft neutral tones, and a minimalist kitchen with ample storage and a striking horizontal feature window above the benchtop. A second toilet was integrated into the layout to improve flexibility for shared living. Paired with wide windows and durable flooring, the overall result is a granny flat that feels grounded, elegant and well-proportioned for everyday living, whether for extended family or future rental use.
